Discussion Forum : Percentage - General Questions (Q.No. 1)
1.
A batsman scored 110 runs which included 3 boundaries and 8 sixes. What percent of his total score did he make by running between the wickets?
45%
45 5 %
11
54 6 %
11
55%
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Number of runs made by running = 110 - (3 x 4 + 8 x 6)

= 110 - (60)

= 50.

Required percentage = 50 x 100 % = 45 5 %
110 11

Total Runs 110.
3 boundaries = 3 * 4 = 12.
8 * 6 = 48,
12 + 48 = 60.

Between wickets is 110-60 = 50.
Now they have asked me to find the % of 110 = 50
Simply add 2 zeros to 50 and divide by 110

eg: %10 of x =a.
=>a00/10 find x.
eg: x% of 100 = a.
=>a00/100 find x.

x% of 110 = 50,
=>5000/110= 45.45.

3 boundaries means 3*4 = 12 runs.
8 sixes means 8*6 = 48 runs.

Totally we have 60 runs only with boundaries and sixes.

Now given runs are 110.
Hence total score did he make by running between the wickets is,

110-60 = 50 runs.
So the percentage is (50/110)*100= 45.454545....%.

We will write this like 45(5/11)%.

The total run is - 110
Boundaries(4's) - 3.
Sixes- 8.

Therefore, (4*3)+(6*8)= 12+48 = 60.

Running between the wickets means (1's or 2's which they get)

Therefore need to know the running b/w wickets:
110 - 60 =50.

And the percentage for running b/w wickets is;

= 50/110 * 100,
= 500/11,
= 45 * 5/11%.

Total run = 110.

And runs scored by boundaries and sixes are (3*4=12)+ (8*6=48) = 60,
Rest scores made by running = 110 - 60 = 50 runs.
So percentage of running's score = (running's score / total Score )*100.
= (50/110)*100 = (5/11)*100.
= 500/11,
=> (45/1)+(5/11).
i.e option (B).

Total runs he scored = 110.
The scored 3 boundaries and 8 sixes=> 3 * 4 + 6 * 8 = 60,
The runs scored by him running between the wickets => 110 - 60 = 50.
By unitary method,
For 110runs ---------100%
For 50 runs ----------?.

That follows as = 50 * 100/110 = result.

Hi,

3 * 4 + 8 * 6 = 60 runs.

110 runs - 60 = 50 => 50/110 (110 from total runs). 110 = 50
100 = X so 110 times 5/110 = 45 5/11.

Total runs : 110
boundaries :3 ie 3 * 4=12.---> 12 +48
six : 8 ie 8*6 =48 ---->=60.

= total run -addition of 4 and 6
= 110 -60 ie = 50
= 50/100 *100. ie 5000/110.

ie. 500/11(put in division method),
then 11 is divisor 5 is remainder 45 is the quotient,
45 * 5/11.

The answer given is incorrect. The correct answer is 40%.

Total runs=110.
No. of sixes= 8,
Runs by sixes=6*8=54,
No. of fours=3,
Runs scored by fours=4*3=12,
Runs between the wickets=110-(54+12)=110-66=44,
% runs scored between wickets= (44÷110)*100=40% ans.

Total batsman score = 110.

Include 3*four and 8*sixes.

=12+48.

Include of six and four = 60.

Total score-sixes and fours = 110-60 = 50.

Percentage = Remaining without six and fours/total score**100.

= 110/50*100.

= 11/5*100.

= 1100/5.

= 45*5/11.
