Guys, This rule will solve all your confusions.
"When investments of all the partners are for the same time, the gain or loss is distributed among the partners in the ratio of their investments.
Suppose A and B invest Rs. x and Rs. y respectively for a year in a business, then at the end of the year:
(A's share of profit) : (B's share of profit) = x : y.

Ya himanshu is write .in solution part you assign x/4 part to rhaul. Then here x means profit gain. If x is gain profit then there will be some investment although this quesiotn is true only when there will be no any profit as well as loss there.

Answer could be E. Because we can take it based on observations. like

Solution is wrong because in question Rahul has been allotted one fourth of profit, while in the solution he has been given one fourth of investment.

The question is implemented wrong as the question says rahul got one fourth of profit not of the total investment so the answer is D.
