2.
A, B and C jointly thought of engaging themselves in a business venture. It was agreed that A would invest Rs. 6500 for 6 months, B, Rs. 8400 for 5 months and C, Rs. 10,000 for 3 months. A wants to be the working member for which, he was to receive 5% of the profits. The profit earned was Rs. 7400. Calculate the share of B in the profit.
Rs. 1900
Rs. 2660
Rs. 2800
Rs. 2840
Answer: Option
Explanation:

For managing, A received = 5% of Rs. 7400 = Rs. 370.

Balance = Rs. (7400 - 370) = Rs. 7030.

Ratio of their investments = (6500 x 6) : (8400 x 5) : (10000 x 3)

   = 39000 : 42000 : 30000

   = 13 : 14 : 10

B's share = Rs. 7030 x 14 = Rs. 2660.

Total profit is 7400
a get 5% so (5/100)*7400 =370
so a got 370
in toal balene we substrct the a's profit

7400-370=7030
Ratio of their investments = (6500 x 6) : (8400 x 5) : (10000 x 3)

= 39000 : 42000 : 30000

= 13 : 14 : 10

B's share = Rs. 7030 x 14 = Rs. 2660.

By combining all investments from A B C; total investment is 24900; profit:7400; A is working partner so he takes additional profit 5% in total profit. By minusing, 7400-370 = 7030, A's profit is2470, B's profit is 2660,C's profit is 1900, so A takes 2470+370 = 2840.

Total profit = 7400.

A receive 5% profit for working member.

5% of 7400 = Rs. 370.

So now profit is = Rs. 7030/-.

A B C.

6500*6 8400*5 10000*3.

13 14 10.

Ratio of profit = 7030/37 = 190.

We want B's profit = 14*190 = Rs. 2660/-.

@Abhi.

Not take the 7400*14/37.

Because the a has, A wants to be the working member for which, he was to receive 5% of the profits.

So A receives the 5% of the profit so 370Rs/ so 7400-370 = 7030 so didn't take the 7400 Rs.

Bommidala Karimulla Reddy is wrong because the investment for different months but rate is remain constant it is simple formula of simple interest

Profit (simple interest)= principle*rate*time /100

Why 6500 is multiplied by 6 and als 8400 with 5 and 10000 with 3 ?

Money is not invested every month but it is invested once.

Then why it is multiplied with 6, 5 and 3?

@Vidhyarthi,b@Prasant.

Yes we already subtract the 5%.
Profit is 7400.
Profit-5%of a profit=7030 .
We divided this 7030 into 3 parts based on their time.

Why because of a receive 5% from the total profit rs 7400. That's why we have to find how much rs he get from the profit.

That's why,
(5/100) * 7400.

Working of A 'invest' and 'managing' but B, C only invest money.

So A take extra money for managing.

Due to this reason 7030*14/37. Not 7400*14/37.

For managing, A received = 5% of Rs. 7400 = Rs. 370.

Balance = Rs. (7400 - 370) = Rs. 7030.

Why we can take total profit is 7030?

= 14/37*7030
