A, B and C jointly thought of engaging themselves in a business venture. It was agreed that A would invest Rs. 6500 for 6 months, B, Rs. 8400 for 5 months and C, Rs. 10,000 for 3 months. A wants to be the working member for which, he was to receive 5% of the profits. The profit earned was Rs. 7400. Calculate the share of B in the profit.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
For managing, A received = 5% of Rs. 7400 = Rs. 370.
Balance = Rs. (7400 - 370) = Rs. 7030.
Ratio of their investments = (6500 x 6) : (8400 x 5) : (10000 x 3)
= 39000 : 42000 : 30000
= 13 : 14 : 10

@Nitish Kashyap,
The ratio of the total investments that are made;
I.A x+I.B y+I.c z(where I.A, I.B, I.C are investments made by persons A,B,C respectively and the x,y,z are the times frame for Investment of every partner.According to partnership formula, the ratio of profit shares is same to the investments of those partners. meaning I.A x : I.B y :I.C z = P.A : P.B :P.C.

"A would invest Rs. 6500 for 6 months, B, Rs. 8400 for 5 months and C, Rs. 10, 000 for 3 months".
Does this not mean the Rs 6500, 8400, 10000 were invested at once for 6, 5, 3 months respectively?
And the ratio should be calculated as 65000/6: 8400/5: 10000/3.
It's not that they were investing Rs 6500, 8400, 10000 every month for 6, 5, 3 months respectively, right?

By combining all investments from A B C; total investment is 24900; profit:7400; A is working partner so he takes additional profit 5% in total profit. By minusing, 7400-370 = 7030, A's profit is2470, B's profit is 2660,C's profit is 1900, so A takes 2470+370 = 2840.

'A' has working partner, but why you are choosing 7400 is considered as total profit?

Why because of a receive 5% from the total profit rs 7400. That's why we have to find how much rs he get from the profit.
That's why,
(5/100) * 7400.
That's why,
(5/100) * 7400.
