A and B started a business in partnership investing Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively. After six months, C joined them with Rs. 20,000. What will be B's share in total profit of Rs. 25,000 earned at the end of 2 years from the starting of the business?
Rs. 7500
Rs. 9000
Rs. 9500
Rs. 10,000
Answer: Option
Explanation:

A : B : C = (20,000 x 24) : (15,000 x 24) : (20,000 x 18) = 4 : 3 : 3.

B's share = Rs. 25000 x 3 = Rs. 7,500.

Hello for two years we have 12*12 = 24 months and here they mentioned after 6 months C joined so from 24 months we less 6 then we get 24-6 = 18 i.e how we got 18 here.

I think it is helpful to understand this right.

It is given 6 months. Why 18 has been taken?

You are confuse 10 is sum of ratio so for decide profit of B only it is divide by 10. But to take ratio in simplified format it is divide by 12 because 48, 36 both come in table of 12 so it is easy to simplify it.

Why did you divide it by 12? I know that you will only divide it by their sum. If I'm not mistaken?

@Durai.

(20,000 x 24):(15,000 x 24):(20000 x 18)
= 480000:360000:360000

= 48:36:36

= 4:3:3 ...........(Dividing with 12)

Is it clear ?
