47.
In a division sum, the divisor is 10 times the quotient and 5 times the remainder. If the remainder is 46, what is the dividend ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Divisor = (5 x 46) = 230
![]() ![]() |
230 | = 23 |
10 |
Dividend = (Divisor x Quotient) + Remainder
= (230 x 23) + 46
= 5290 + 46
= 5336.

Reminder is 46.
Let the quotient is x. Then divisor is 10x.
Let the reminder is y. Then Divisor is 5y.
According to question, 10x=5y.
Then y=2x.
Given y=46. Then x=23.
Quotient=23.
Divisor=230.
Reminder=46.
Then the dividend is;
= (divisor * quotient) + reminder.
= (230 * 23) + 46.
= 5290 + 46.
= 5336 (ans).

It is very Easy one.
d- divisor
r - reminder
q- quotient
Given,
d= 10*q............(1)
d= 5*r...........(2)
Equal 1,2
10*q=5*r......(3)
If reminder 46
Substitute in (3)
10*q=5*46.
q=23.
d= 230.
Question is find dividend.
Dividend= q*d + r.
Dividend= 23*230 + 46 = 5336.
d- divisor
r - reminder

10*q=5*46.
q=23.
d= 230.
Question is find dividend.
Dividend= q*d + r.
Dividend= 23*230 + 46 = 5336.

Div=10 * quo.
Div=5 *rem.
Since rem=46
So Div=5 * 46 = 230
10 * quo = 230.
Quo=23.
We know div=div * quo + rem.
Div = 230 * 23 + 46,
Div = 5290 + 46,
Div = 5336.
Div=5 *rem.
Since rem=46
So Div=5 * 46 = 230
10 * quo = 230.
Quo=23.
We know div=div * quo + rem.
Div = 230 * 23 + 46,
Div = 5290 + 46,
Div = 5336.

D = 10 * Q --->(1)
D = 5 * R ---->(2)
R = 46 ----->(3)
From (2) & (3)
D = 230 ------>(4)
From (1)&(4)
230 = 10*Q,
Q = 23,
Number = D * Q + R (i.e)By using Dividend=Divisor*quotient+rem.
Number = 230 * 23 + 46,
Number = 5336.

The divisor is 10 times the quotient and 5 times the remainder.
Its mean.
Divisor=10*quotient+5*remainder.
If I am wrong, then please correct me.

No it's not .
5*remainder=divisor and 10*quotient= divisor
==>5*remainder=10*quotient.
In the above problem,
5*46=diviser==>230=diviser.
Then,
10*quotient=230==>quotient=23.
5*remainder=divisor and 10*quotient= divisor
==>5*remainder=10*quotient.
In the above problem,
5*46=diviser==>230=diviser.
Then,
10*quotient=230==>quotient=23.
