47.
In a division sum, the divisor is 10 times the quotient and 5 times the remainder. If the remainder is 46, what is the dividend ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Divisor = (5 x 46) = 230
![]() ![]() |
230 | = 23 |
10 |
Dividend = (Divisor x Quotient) + Remainder
= (230 x 23) + 46
= 5290 + 46
= 5336.

Let take the divisor be x.
Then.
x = 10 times the quotient and also.
x = 5 times the remainder.
x = 5*46 (46 is the given remainder value).
x = 230.
Substitute the value of x in quotient equation.
x = 10*quotient.
Quotient = x/10 = 230/10 = 23.
We know that,
Dividend = (Divisor x Quotient) + Remainder.
= (230 x 23) + 46.
= 5290 + 46.
= 5336.
NOTE: example for dividend formula.
If we take 11/2.
11 is called as dividend and.
2 is called as divisor.
Quotient is 5.
Remainder is 1.
So,
11= (2*5)+1.
Dividend = (Divisor x Quotient)+Remainder.
Hope you all understand:).
