Whenever base is not mentioned, it is taken as 10.
So, log 10 =1 (as the base here is 10).

It is a basic formula of logarithm.
If,
log(a/b) = log a - log b
log (a.b) = log a + log b
If,
log(a/b) = log a - log b
log (a.b) = log a + log b
