Let Avg age of dull team be x
so acc to formula sum/n=avg----equation 1)

we have 26+29+ 9 members of cricket team / 11 = x --- equation 2)

Now Acc to ques: the average age of the remaining players is one year less than the average age of the whole team if those two players are excluded so again putting in eq 1

9 members / 9 = x- 1 ---- equation 3

where x is avg of whole team

get the value of 9 members from equation 2 and place it in eq 3
we will get the ans as 23

11x - (26 + 29) = 9(x -1) can you explain that how it comes?

11x(whole team average)-(26+29)(captain+wicket keeper)=9(x-1)(average of 9 players)

here the average age of 9 players age is < the whole team by 1. that is 11x-1=9x.

So we are using 9(x-1).

11 MEMBERS TEAM PLAYERS AGE OF 26 YEAR OK
1 (ONE) MEMBER IS WICKET KEEPER 3YEARS OLDER THEN REAMING PLAYERS
11-1=10 1 IS WICKET KEEPER
26-3=23

One year less than average then why are you using 9x+1? you can use 9x-1 na ?

Let the sum of age of 7 player(excluding captain and keeper)= x
average age of the whole team = (x+26+(26+3))/11 ----eq(1)
average age of a team without captain and keeper = x/9 -----eq(2)

according to the question,
x/9 = (x+26+29)/11 - 1
11x+99=9x+495
x=198
putting the value of x in eq(1) we get,

average age of the whole team = 23years
