6.
The captain of a cricket team of 11 members is 26 years old and the wicket keeper is 3 years older. If the ages of these two are excluded, the average age of the remaining players is one year less than the average age of the whole team. What is the average age of the team?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let the average age of the whole team by x years.
11x - (26 + 29) = 9(x -1)
11x - 9x = 46
2x = 46
x = 23.
So, average age of the team is 23 years.

Let us Assume that the Average age of 11 members be x.
Then the Total Age of 11 members is 11 * x.
But Given That the age of Captain and Wicket Keeper is (26+29) = 55.
From Above the total Age of Remaining 9 members in the Team will be (11 * x - 55).
Let us Assume that the above step as number (1).
Given Another Condition is the Average of remaining team members is one less than that of all the average of team members i.e., (x-1).
Then from that the total Age of remaining 9 members be [9*(x-1)].
Let us Assume that the above step as number (2).
So From the Above Explanation step 1 and 2 are same .
By Equating step (1) and step (2) It will be,
==> (11x - 55) = [9(x - 1)]
==> (11x - 55) = 9x - 9
==> 11x - 9x = 55 - 9
==> 2x = 46
==> x = 23.
Therefore the Average Age of the all team members will be 23 Years.

Age of captain = 26.
Age of wicket keeper is = 26+3 = 29.
Total age = 26+29 = 55.
Remaining team = 9.
Remove = total age - remaining team.
= 55-9 = 44.
Leave = captain+wicket keeper = 2.
44/2 = 22.
Age of wicket keeper is = 26+3 = 29.
Total age = 26+29 = 55.
Remaining team = 9.
Remove = total age - remaining team.
= 55-9 = 44.
Leave = captain+wicket keeper = 2.
44/2 = 22.

(x-26-29)/9) -1= x/11.
Why is this equation not right? Anyone, please explain to me.

Can you explain how that 46 comes?

11x - (26 + 29) = 9x - 9
11x - 9x = -9 + (26 + 29)
11x - 9x = 46
11x - 9x = -9 + (26 + 29)
11x - 9x = 46

Let the average age of 9 members be x.
(x+55)/11 - x/9 = 1
=> x=198.
(198+55)/11 => 23.
(x+55)/11 - x/9 = 1
=> x=198.
(198+55)/11 => 23.
