Bullets trains are run by electromagnetic effect. They do not require engines. But without rail, train is not called train bit vehicle.

I think train doesn't require engine. For example, maglev trains don't have an engine. But they require rails so rails are important.

By adding engine the bodies or coches become train so the basic requirement is the engine, and train sometimes do not requires rail.

The train needs rails first rails is the answer because the train can't travel without rails. Trains can't travel in roads, right?

As human body is nothing without heart as such as without engine train is nothing. Therefore engine is the heart of the train.

Now a days trains are without rails and drivers, And in engine there is no front engine in trains so, engine is must in train.

The thing is that question is asked only about train (as a equipment). So only relevant answer is Engine i believe..

Every vehicle has an engin. But all are not train. Maybe rail is correc. Without rail we can't call it a train.

The stationary train need not have a driver or guard. But it is a must to have an engine to be called complete.
