In the following figure small square represents the persons who know English, triangle to those who know Marathi, big square to those who know Telugu and circle to those who know Hindi. In the different regions of the figures from 1 to 12 are given.

According to the question the answer should be 6, because only 6 person can speak both, but if we include 7, it will consider Marathi, Hindi and Telugu.

Here ans is 6 only so option is d. Because if we add 7 then those persons speak Hindi also.

Friends here the question is how many person can speak Marathi and Telugu both? so the answer is 13. If the question is how many person can speak Marathi and Telugu both only? then the answer will be d. 6.

But the question is not about only marathi and telugu thats why inclusion of hindi in answer is right thing answer will be 13.

Yes, the answer to this question is 13. Because the person who knows Hindi doesn't mean that he shouldn't know the other two (lang) right. So, the person from Hindi can know the other two languages too.

Read Shashank comment, the word ONLY changes the entire question. If the word ONLY is included in the question then the answer will be 6.
