Correct answer is 256 as it is asked to tell which no will not be in the series. 729, 1000 and 512 are perfect cubes so they should be in the series 1, 8, 27, 64, . Because it is a series of only perfect cubes, and 256 is not a perfect cube. It is a perfect square of 16.

1, 8, 27, 64, 125 are the series..

Difference each number is 7, 19, 37, 61, and difference in this series in each no are- 12,18,24...and next is 30 so 61+30 = 91.

Than new series are 7,19,37,61,91....
So 1, 8, 27, 64, 125, (125+91) = 216.

2*2*2 = 8.

3*3*3 = 27.

4*4*4 = 64.

5*5*5 = 125.

6*6*6 = 216.

7*7*7 = 343.

8*8*8 = 512.

9*9*9 = 729.

10*10*10 = 1000.

So 256 is not the cube of any natural number.
