Separate the patterns like this;

1st: 2,3,10,?,172.

2nd:3,5,13,43,177,

2+1 = 3,
3+2 = 5,
10+3 = 13,
39+4 = 43,
172+5 = 177.

2x1 = 3,
5x2 = 10,
13x3 = 39,
43x4 = 172.

So in the 1st pattern, you have to do the addition of 1st no with +1,

Also same goes for 2nd pattern you have to do multiplication 1st no with x1,

Now in 1st pattern add +2 with the answer of 2nd pattern,
And in 2nd pattern multiple x2 with the answer of 1st pattern

The sequence goes like this and you'll find your answer which is 39.

I hope it helps everyone.

Break the series into two:

2 ,3 ,10,? ,172..
3 ,5 ,13,43,177..
+1,+2,+3,+4,+5..

43-4 = 39.
