There are 8 houses in a line and in each house only one boy lives with the conditions as given below:

  1. Jack is not the neighbour Siman.
  2. Harry is just next to the left of Larry.
  3. There is at least one to the left of Larry.
  4. Paul lives in one of the two houses in the middle.
  5. Mike lives in between Paul and Larry.

If at least one lives to the right of Robert and Harry is not between Taud and Larry, then which one of the following statement is not correct ?

Robert is not at the left end.
Robert is in between Simon and Taud.
Taud is in between Paul and Jack.
There are three persons to the right of Paul.

According to me, D is the correct answer.

They are different arrangement is available.

The correct sequence is S, R, J, P, M, L, T, H.

Therefore, option C is correct.

Harry, Larry, Mike, Paul, Jack, Taud, Robert, and Simran.

Points are given as;

1. Jack and Simran, not a neighbor.
2. Larry has at least one left to Larry so it is in left.
3. Mike lives in between Paul and Larry and also in the middle houses..
4. If at least one lives to the right of Robert which is Simran then obvious Taud and Larry are not in between..

So, as per the statement Taud is in between Paul and Jack.

There are many combinations :

1) J H L M P T R S
2) H L M P J T R S
3) H L M P T J R S
4) H L M P S T R J ----> Satisfy the (iii) option.
5) H L M P T S R J ----> Satisfy the (iii) option.

So finally some data are missing , means : DATA INADEQUATE:

The question gives more than one correct arrangement. So the options given are ambiguous.

See, you all, @Ardentgirl can be right but there is much confusion about the seats of Robert, Taud, Jack and Simon.
