When we want to marry someone first we talk about caste, not clan. The clan is not important that's why first caste then clan.

How can caste come before the clan?

I think a clan should come first and then caste.

Someone, please explain this in details.

It can be 3 2 4 5 1 because.

The newly married couple will become one family.
Family with their children can split into a group of families.
All these people will have the same characteristic (species).
All these species belong to the same caste.

@Eleojo.

Cast means a group of people who are of the same kind, level and standard.

Such as backward classes of the society, they belong to one one group. After backwards it is middle and then upper class.
