The correct answer is 15km because the question is how many kilometres will he have to cycle to reach his home straight? from the word straight, from AD to DE. That is the correct formula that I think.

AD = 5km
DE = 10km

Formula: AD + DE = Ans.
5km + 10km = 15km.

Here, Total distance - distance.
=10 + 5 + 10 - 10,
= 15km.

Here only straight distance is asked.

So (5+10)=15km.
