One evening before sunset Rekha and Hema were talking to each other face to face. If Hema's shadow was exactly to the right of Hema, which direction was Rekha facing?

Explanation:

In the evening sun sets in West. Hence then any shadow falls in the East. Since Hema's shadow was to the right of Hema. Hence Rekha was facing towards South.

If they are facing east and west, it will not holds good, they have not asked where is Rekha shadow facing they have asked for which direction Rekha is facing?

@Madhana: If Rekha and Hema were facing East and West respectively. This would be the solution:

                               NORTH
(SUN setting) WEST      Rekha -->  <-- Hema        EAST
                               SOUTH

Then Hema's shadow would be right at her back!
