North is the right answer.

Always remember the tricks.

1) Morning-sun rises in the east.
=shadow towards west Only

2) Evening-sunsets in the west.
=shadow towards west only

NOW YOU CAN SOLVE EASILY.

@Madhana: If Rekha and Hema were facing East and West respectively. This would be the solution:

                               NORTH
(SUN setting) WEST      Rekha -->  <-- Hema        EAST
                               SOUTH

Then Hema's shadow would be right at her back!

Guys here 1. Morning (before sunrise/after sunrise)
Sun rises in the East.
So, the shadow is towards the West.

2. Evening (before sunset/after sunset)

Sun sets in the West.
So, the shadow is towards the East.
So accept or learn these conditions and apply according to the question, it is now simple, Sun is in the west and the shadow will be opposite, i.e. east

Step 2: “Hema’s shadow was exactly to her right”
That means when Hema is standing, her right-hand side points toward the East (because her shadow is there).

So:
Hema’s right = East
Therefore, Hema is facing North
(Because when you face North, your right-hand side is East, and your left-hand side is West.)

Step 3: Rekha and Hema are face to face
So Rekha faces the opposite direction of Hema.
If Hema faces North, Rekha faces South.

Can any one clearly explain this type of model? I'm little bit confused.

What would be answer if the both replace their position with each other?

Can anyone explain this type of question? Because I'm facing problem to solve this question.

If they are facing east and west, it will not holds good, they have not asked where is Rekha shadow facing they have asked for which direction Rekha is facing?

Hi, this question got 2 answer. North and south. If Hema facing south and if Hema facing north.

Not getting this, please give details about this direction test.
