@All.

I will explain the answer clearly.

Initially, he is started from the north and he takes left 1km and he takes right 2km and he himself 1km west of his starting point means from his point to starting point so that makes a square so the opposite side is 2km so the same distance is coming opposite side that means north so the answer is 2km.

I am confused but the thing I understood is first moved 1km and and come down 2km and then come back up 1km and found himself 1km west from starting point. That is making 2km.
