In each of the following problems, there is one question and three statements I, II and III given below the question. You have to decide whether the data given in the statements is sufficient to answer the question. Read all the statements carefully and find which of the statements is/are sufficient to answer the given question. Choose the correct alternative in each question.

Question: Five persons - A, B, C, D and E are sitting in a row. Who is sitting in the middle?
Statements:
- B is between E and C.
- B is to the right of E.
- D is between A and E.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
From I, the order is : E, B, C or C, B, E.
From II, the order is : E, B.
From III, the order is : A, D, E.
Combining the above three, we get the order as : A, D, E, B, C. Clearly, E is sitting in the middle.

I want to say that B is between E & C doesn't mean EBC or CBE it can also be EADBC or EDBAC or EBADC or many more such combinations but why only take EBC or CBE?
Anyone, please explain to me.

By using 1 we can say that option is.
E B C or C B E.
By using 3 (without seeing 2).
We can say that it is.
A D E B C or C B E D A.
FROM USING 1 AND 2 WE CAN BE SURE THAT 'E' IS IN MIDDLE.
So, option C is correct.

The third option says D is between A and E, which leaves us with two possibilities, ADE or EAD. So, even by combining all three statements the possibilities of sitting arrangements are ADEBC and EBCDA. So according to me, option [E] should be the correct answer.

I have to find middle position. We can get middle position from I And III but not correct sequence of sitting arrangement but you can correct position of middle. Check it once.

2nd option does not matter,, the answer has to be 'E' whether the order is -"A D -E- B C" or "C B -E- D A"
So the answer should be [C]ONLY I AND III.
So the answer should be [C]ONLY I AND III.
