Its a wrong answer because according to the question we are firnding how many students play football in the class so.
In the first statement you have mentioned only boys play football and in the second statement you have mentioned no of boys and girls n the class so when we combine both the statements then we can know it 40 students play football in the class at last, its answer should be E.

Statement-I: Only boys play football.
This statements does NOT means that "ALL BOYS ONLY play football". It may be few boys only play football.
So, the given answer is correct.

Yeah answer is correct because only boys play football doesn't mean that all boys will play football. So boys may not. So we can not say exactly that how many boys play football. Hence we can not give the answer.

Question is not to find no of boys ONLY play football.

It should definitely be E.

The answer is D because ONLY boys do NOT mean all boys play football. ONLY boys mean NO girls. So it is not given whether ALL boys play football or how many of them play football. The trick is in the word ONLY (excluding girls) but if it was given ALL boys play football, then we could have said it as 40.
So from both conditions, we cannot decide the number of players. So the given answer is correct.

Yes the correct answer is E. As the number of boys is clearly mentioned in statement 2.

Answer should be D. It is not mentioned that all boys play football, it mentioned that only boys, have to know how many boys all boys or some boys should be mentioned in nos. Have to take in the statement in depth.
