We can't confirm that x is brother or x is sister also the Matter of y. Still, now we don't have the answer to prove the relation between them. y can be brother or x can be brother we don't have any proof to prove.

Y says, "I have only one brother". But they haven't mentioned if why has any sister or not.
X says, "I have only one sister" also here they haven't mentioned if x has a brother or not.
Even using both statements 1 and 2, we can't come to conclude which one is the sister and which is the brother.
So, the answer is D (Neither I nor II is sufficient).

We can't jump to conclusion, because Y's brother could be anybody and X's sister could be anybody. If there were some parents involved here and X and Y had the same parents then we could have gone with option E. That too in both statements they should say A n B are my parents.
