Question: How is Tanya related to the man in the photograph ?

Statements:

  1. Man in the photograph is the only son of Tanya's grandfather.
  2. The man in the photograph has no brothers or sisters and his father is Tanya's grandfather.

I alone is sufficient while II alone is not sufficient
II alone is sufficient while I alone is not sufficient
Either I or II is sufficient
Neither I nor II is sufficient
Both I and II are sufficient
Answer: Option
Explanation:

From I, we conclude that the man is the only son of Tanya's grandfather i.e. he is Tanya's father or Tanya is the man's daughter.

From II, we conclude that the man's father is Tanya's grandfather. Since the man has no brothers or sisters, so he is Tanya's father or Tanya is the man's daughter.

In case some guys are saying that only son doesn't mean Tanya's grandfather has no daughter, yes it is possible but the old man would be maternal grandfather not the grandfather with respect to Tanya.

As per question option c is correct.

Definitely C.

If you look at the explanation, both answers end in this phrase, "he is Tanya's father or Tanya is the man's daughter".

The answer should have been C. Both statements convey the man as Tanya's father. The gender of Tanya is irrelevant to the answer.

We don't care about gender of Tanya. Tanya is child of the man in the photograph.

It doesn't matter it Tanya's grandfather has a daughter or not the main concern is the man.

I think correct answer is C. Both statements say that Tanya's father is tha man in photograph.

But I also think that Tanya's grandpa may be from his /her mother's father, so maybe the answer is correct.

Yes, the answer must be C.
