Question: How is M related to N?
Statements:
- P, who has only two kids, M and N, is the mother-in-law of Q, who is sister-in-law of N.
- R, the sister-in-law of M, is the daughter-in-law of S, who has only two kids, M and N.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
From I, we conclude that P is the mother of M and N, while Q is the daughter-in-law of P and sister-in-law of N. Thus, Q is M's wife and hence, M is N's brother.
From II, we conclude that M and N are the children of S. Also, R is the daughter-in-law of S and sister-in-law of M. So, R is N's wife and thus, N is M's brother. Hence, M is either brother or sister of N.

Option should be E. Since from A we get only M is Male but we don't know that gender of N. Only from option 2 we get the gender of N.

The option should be E. Because without combining the two statment it is not possible to identify the gender (male, female) of others (M, N).

Option A is right just read the question carefully.
Question is how M is related to N so either N is male or female (which we don't know) M will be always brother to N (we know the gender of M) and both are the kids of P.
From II we know the gender of N but we don't know the gender of M so we can't say how is M related to N.

Gender is unknown but we can say that M, N are siblings. Then why not option C?
