Question: B is the brother of A. How is A related to B ?

Statements:

  1. A is the sister of C.
  2. E is the husband of A.

I alone is sufficient while II alone is not sufficient
II alone is sufficient while I alone is not sufficient
Either I or II is sufficient
Neither I nor II is sufficient
Both I and II are sufficient
Answer: Option
Explanation:

B is A's brother means A is either brother or sister of B. Now, each one of I and II individually indicates that A is a female, which means that A is B's sister.

How is A related to B?

They are siblings (given in the questions, before the statements).

Hence neither of the statements are required.

They never mentioned A's or B's gender.

@Crazy.

Here, A is sister of C so A is female and its clear she is sister of B and coming to option 2 it says E is husband of A again proving A is female.

I think the answer should be E and not C as both the statements are required to ascertain the relationship between A and B.

I think the answer should be A because here you get the relation between A and B and E is unwanted here so E is not needed.

E is the husband of A might mean that E and A are homosexuals. Hence, A can be a male or female.

I think answer should be D because both indicates that A is female means A is sister of B.

Answer would be D because none the statement are related to B.
