Possibly Lata may be talking about herself. It is the reasoning.
The name can't decide the gender. Where it is written Lata is a girl!

Here it is not mentioned that Lata grandfather has only one son, that's why answer is cousin or data insufficient.

"He is the son of the ONLY SON of my grandfather" does not means that that grandfather is not having any daughters, it means that there is only one son but did not mention information about daughters of grandfather so there may be a chance of having daughters also to the Grand Father.
If Lata is the children of grand father's daughter then the relation will become "option C: Cousin".
So, I suppose the answer is option D.

No @Sundar.
In question, it is mentioned as "only son" and not "only child" so there is a possibility that Lata is the child born to the grandfather's daughter. Just lik Ajit singh as mentioned above. So answer is "DATA INADEQUATE".

A is the only son of B. It means that, A is the only male child of B. It does not mean that B does not have a girl child or A does not have a sister sibling. It substantially doesn't mean that A is the only child of B as A can have a sister sibling.

Lata father's father=grandfather
Grand father has one son means Lata father.
Lata father have one son means Lata's brother,
So the answer is a brother.
He is the son of the only son of my grandfather.

Here in this question, it cannot be exactly inferred that " only son " refers to "only child" hence, the correct option should be D i.e. Data Inadequate.

The answer should be the data is inadequate for instance what if Lata is a boy and is pointing towards its photograph.
