Here A, B &C are siblings.
And in problem, clearly given that C is the father of D. &D is either male or female which is not confirm.
So we can not determine its gender.
Therefore option[D] is the right answer.

(C) is partially correct not fully because you do not know D is MALE or FEMALE(it may be nephew or niece).
So you should go for option (D).
