Directions to Solve
In each of the following questions find out the alternative which will replace the question mark.

4.
8 : 28 :: 27 : ?
28
8
64
65
Answer: Option
Explanation:

First number = 8 and the sum of the digits of the second number is 2 + 8 = 10.

Thus the difference of the first number and the sum of the digits of second number is 10 - 8 = 2.

Similarly, the sum of the digits of third number is 2 + 7 = 9.

Hence the sum of digits of fourth number should be 2 more than 9 i.e. 11

Hence, fourth number is 65.

8 : 28 :: 27:?

2³: (3³+1) :: 3³: (4³+1),
8:(27+1) :: 27: (64+1),
8 : 28 :: 27 : 65.

This is a proportion problem where the two ratios are equal. We can set up the proportion as follows:

8/28 = 27/x

To solve for x, we can cross-multiply:

8x = 28 * 27
8x = 756
x = 756/8
x = 94.5
Therefore, the answer is 94.5, but since the options are all integers, the closest option to 94.5 is 65.
So, the answer is 65.

2^³ = 8,(2+1)^³ + 1 = 28.
27 = (3+1)^³ + 1 = 65.

2's cube : 3's cube + 1 :: 3's cube : 4's cube + 1

So answer is 27 : 65.

2^3=8 :3^3=27+1=28,
Similarly,
3^3=27: 4^3=64+1=65.
