Sedative is a substance injected into the body to alleviate the pains.

Meanwhile Consolation is not a substance injected into the body to mitigate grief but it somewhat perform same function with the use of spoken word.

Actually, what we should look for is what does what.

I think option D is also correct because ache means pain and extraction refer to extracting pain.
