Compromise and conciliate have same meaning then why we want to choose adjust?

It is clearly yield. Adjust doesnt flow in the sentence and from synonyms found in the Cambridge dictionary, yeld was clearly the option as it suggest something done involuntarily based on circumstances. Adjust is more of something done voluntary not a situation where you are boxed in with no choice.

I think the answer is that accommodate may be conciliate but accommodate and compromise have a parallel meaning.

Explanation:

Compromise → to give in or make concessions, especially in a dispute.
Adjust → make small changes (related, but not exact).
Accommodate → adapt or make suitable (related, but less about giving in).
Yield → give way or concede → same meaning.
Conciliate → try to make peace (related, but more about reconciliation).
So, cannot compromise = cannot yield or give in.
