Why not removed ?
Like when we say a distant cousin we may mean a cousin say twice removed.
Or when we say the administration of being too removed from the realities of the state we actually mean the administration is too distant.

Distant: Distant means something which is very far.
i.e- I am unable to watch Distant object due to Myopia (A defect in eye).
