Childless means it may also who losing his/ her child even they gives birth but Barren means totally unproductive i.e. unable to reproduce or No ability to reproduce.

I think childless is more suitable because barren means unproductive of course but related to soil and farming.

Sterile has two meanings. The important one being unable to produce any offspring. Childless is the correct answer. Barren is also a suitable option. Arid means dry and sterile doesn't mean dry.

Being childless doesn't mean that you can't give birth, it just means that you don't have a child for some reason. So childless cannot be the right answer.
Barren is unproductive and same goes for sterile.
