I think it should have been: having received your letter this morning, we are writing to thank you for the same.

What about-"Having received your letter this morning, we were waiting to thank you"?
Correct me, If I am wrong.
Correct me, If I am wrong.

Having received your letter this morning, we are writing thank you for the same. Why it shouldn't be like this?

I also think Answer is D because the sentence is right.
Having received Your Letter mean (After your letter).
Having received Your Letter mean (After your letter).

The answer is right. No corrections. One needs to revise grammar rules thoroughly if this answer seems wrong.

I think A is wrong. Because present continuous comes with present tense. I think after receiving your letter.

The grammatical error is in sentence 3. The correct part should be "to thank you for it." So the answer is C.
