The answer is right. No corrections. One needs to revise grammar rules thoroughly if this answer seems wrong.

I think A is wrong. Because present continuous comes with present tense. I think after receiving your letter.

The grammatical error is in sentence 3. The correct part should be "to thank you for it." So the answer is C.

I think its "C" because, Having received your letter this morning, we are writing "Thank you for the same".

The sentence itself is wrong. We never say writing to thank or whatever; we say we thank you for the same.
