One of, neither of, the number of are followed by plural countable noun eg. One of the boys is my friend.

It's also possible that the author has just one favorite actor then,

One of my favorite actors is also acting in this play.
Or,
One of my favorite actors is acting in this play also. (in this case, the sentence does not have any error).

Is it correct using "also" at the end of a sentence?
