Well, I think it's only a matter of NARRATION CHANGE. If it was "How can you (here a girl) kill the wolf?" Note the question mark in the end. So when we do narration change of the quoted line we get HOW SHE COULD KILL THE WOLF. And the '?' has been replaced by full stop (.).

Option A is somewhat inappropriate. Because "everyone visiting the house" doesn't seem well.
