It could be in two ways. One - None has changed the ideas - then--- Few scientists have changed the ideas. As much as Darwin did with his Theory of Evolution. // Second - A few have changed the ideas when compared to Darwin then. A few scientists have changed the ideas. As much as Darwin did with his Theory of Evolution.

Here did is required because we are comparing with what Darwin did with what the scientists Did.
