A child below 7 years is called " an infant" instead of a small baby.
At the age of 7 years, we call it Child.
Below the age of 18, we call it young.
However, we can use small babies also.
So, there is no mistake in the sentence. The answer is [D].

There are certain doubts-.
1) there should be "six year" instead of six years.
@Sug.
About must be there just because we are not talking about six years old child, we are generalizing the thing.

What about - "A small baby breathes about 45 times per minute 'where as' a child of about six years breathes about 25 times per minute".

C is correct because it describes the range. Means the child may be of 6 or more than 6. So "about" is used.

Why small is used here, baby's have to be small?
So use of small here is irrelevant here.
So use of small here is irrelevant here.

While --> whereas.
So according to me, the option (c) is incorrect.

It is a superfluous error. A child of six years. About is not required.
