In option, C can be wrong as he becomes simple and unselfish.

This is another possibility. I think then is redundant @Usha.

UNSELFISH is also not suitable SELFLESS is proper word.

"into contact with" is wholly superfluous, may be removed.

Whether "contact" is noun or verb, we don't use the before it until it is a physical touch-contact.

Here Notice man is used in general sense so no need of use any article a man is also an error.

The word 'selfless' should have been used in place of 'unselfish'. So part 'C' is an error.

I didn't get it yet. Why we couldn't use "the" before "contact".

"The" can be used in case of specific case.

We do not use "the" before the abstract noun (non-physical like feelings).
