Can any one tell me why the answer is A, but we must use 'was' as the sentence 'c' is in the past form?

'so' & 'thoroughly' can't go side by side.

As per rules, you can write "we have a discussion about the matter", but you cannot write "we discussed about the matter". Simply write we "discuss the matter".

I think after discussion or describe we won't use the about.

I think its "so thoroughly'. Why to use SO before thoroughly. When thoroughly itself stresses the sentence.

Hi all option there is no error in option C as there is an adverb clause of result that's why so is correct here for example.

He worked so hard that he passed.

Yes, option A is correct. There is no need to use 'about' in the sentence.
