Option A, is correct. There is no necessary to place the word "about "after the word discuss. Because the word discusses means to talk about sth.

I agree with anyone why says that 'so' isn't supposed to the following by 'thoroughly'. tho I believe 'about' can be used but it's not a must.

Generally, such types of words like as signature, obey, disobey, marry, investigate, reach, resemble, attack, await, despite, discuss, order, comprise we don't use any preposition.
