It is "One and a half hours" because you have more than one hour (one hour plus half an hour) hence implying that it is plural and not just a single hour.

Both "one" and "a half" are describing the noun "hour", so two.

Yeah! we could use both 'need' or 'take', but in this type of question we should go for finding out error in sentence not main verb type!

We use plural noun with fractions and decimal over one. So the correct answer be one and a half hours.

It must be one hour and a half.

In these type of sentences numeric adjective comes before the noun.

It should be "The test will not need more than one hour and a half to finish".

It should be The test will not TAKE.

So, Option A is correct.

Why can't we use "don't need" in place of "will not need"?
