The whole sentence is in past form so we have to choose the appropriate option which is in past tense. But the options a, b, c are in present tense. Only the option with past tense is' D'.

It can't be "have prepared " because we demonstrated them is already an incident in the past and what we demonstrated them has to be further in the past.

1. Use present perfect when you discuss about something happened in the past before a given present event.

2. Use past perfect when you discuss about something happened in the past before a given past event.
