As given "hardly possible to keep a".

I feel that options a, b, d can be eliminated directly.

As of my knowledge,

Mostly for follows by a verb+ing form so c also gets eliminated.

So, E is the right answer.

Why not 'hardly possible keeping'?

The sentence is in past tense. So can we use "keep"?

Why can't be "Hardly possible for" is the answer?

@All.

Here, hardly implies negation and it is right answer. Means we are not able to see the scene.
