Two things are there sun rise and star disappear so first may be completed before star disappear so we use had + verb 3rd form.

1. Hardly triggers inversion of the subject and auxiliary verb when it begins a sentence. (So not 'D').
2. After 'did' we should have 'rise' not 'rose'(so not 'C').
3. Both actions are 'past', so one which happened first should be 'past perfect' and other should be 'simple past'. (So not 'A', 'E').
2. After 'did' we should have 'rise' not 'rose'(so not 'C').
3. Both actions are 'past', so one which happened first should be 'past perfect' and other should be 'simple past'. (So not 'A', 'E').
