I think bread is only a composition of meal, food and diet, except bread all three enough to survive because it includes juices, water, recipes etc with bread obvious.

Bread is the correct answer.

This phrase comes from the Bible.

The statement is in the bible, Jesus said "Man shall not live on bread alone".

Anyways, the conclusion is that BREAD is the right answer, and already supported by too many of us with valid points.

1st-Its a phrase, as in Bible/English saying, etc.

2nd-BREAD is one of its kind in the category of food, but not the complete food, as misunderstood by some of us.

Can also put something like this:

"All BREADs are Food/Meal, but All Food/Meal is not BREAD".

I wish this clarifies, and its not only me but as per all of us here, as its none other than what many of us already onto it.

If Bible says its a phrase of itself.. Then we must not object over the issue.. So its BREAD.

Bread means food made of flour, water, and yeast mixed together and baked.

Bread is one type of food. So I think correct answer is food.

Because meals diet and food represent collective noun. But alone denote particular meal so I think bread is correct answer.
