Never use comprises of (of is mandatory in this case ie comprised of).

There are some group of words or sentence that sound incorrect in hearing but they are correct English spoken. Comprises means consist of so saying comprises of will just be as repetition i.e consist of 'of' this statement need not any preposition for example compare.
This sentence the members comprise the team and a team is comprised of its member you could deduced that both statement is correct. When using comprises of or comprised of verb like 'is', 'was' must precede it.

The word 'comprises' mostly takes preposition 'of' with it, so 'comprises should be correct. Also, the building comprises sixty rooms sounds incomplete.

Either 'comprises' or 'comprised of'. 'Comprised of' is always used in passive.

Comprise primarily means 'consist of', as in "The country comprises twenty states".
So option D is correct.
