So the S1 states "Calcutta unlike other cities kept its trams."
Now P sentence is indicating about the result.

Q is indicating the impact and historical record.
so to get the result and make it a record there should be some work which has to be already done,

Now R is a normal sentence about the road
but S says that "To ease in the city decided to build an underground railway line."
so underground railway lines can not be built above the road so they went down at the centre of the road which is statement R comes first then S and we have only one option starting with R which is Option D.

So, D is the right answer.

In these type of question we should have the approach to find all the facts, then all the judgements, and finally find the inferences and then arrange them all. In order fact, judgment, inference [assumption + conclusion].

The main hint is in the last sentence. The last sentence has qualified with option q. So we finally have 2 choices a and d. Next step is to find first sentence. In option at the first sentence is given as p. But p is describing about result without any example. So by elimination it must be option d. This is how we can solve by finding qualifiers.

Are all of these word problems deliberately miss-spelling words?

First of all you need to know the meaning of few words used in this. If you understand then you can easily find that are will come before P.

Now check the options and then go with remaining options. :)

S1 should say something about tram,

the best suited sentence for S1 is (R),

the best suited sentence for (R)is (P),

then look for option, you find it right there in (D) option ,
go to next question dont waste time....

S1 should follow with some more details about the trams,.

(P) & (S) cannot be the next sentence after S1, So option A, B, C omitted.

OR.

S6 mentions about some construction, in this case (Q) & (S).

Suits, further we see (S) + (Q) + (S6) suits the best.

So option D.
