If the question asked "a perfect example of" as like you said that (IDOL) would have been the answer. But, here its given "BE" so it could be the person whom we could follow on. We can't follow a nonliving thing so, it's "personify".

The word embodiment is the reason for personify being the answer. Because embodiment and personification are synonyms.
