Doesn't being hand in glove mean associated in some action together, being partners in & not necessarily being friends.

Hand in glove means 'in close collusion or association' signifying mostly negative activity and not necessarily friendship.

I think "hand and glove" means partners which commit something by means of dishonest dealings or unfair means. It doesn't necessarily mean they are good friends!
